GOTFYM – What About Us?
We meet on Sunday mornings for Sunday School 9:40-10:40am, Sunday nights 6-7pm, and Wednesday nights 6:30-7:30pm. Here’s a little bit about us:
  • As Christians in the youth group – We believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God made us, that He loves us, but that we sin. We believe we need salvation and that God gives us salvation through Jesus. We believe that the Bible is the word of God and that God wants us to read the Bible… that we should read the Bible… and often. We believe that we should not only “go to church” on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights… but that we are the church! We rise and fall together. We build each other up! We live for Christ together! We do life together! We believe that it’s a duty and privilege to do evangelism and missions. As a youth group, our purpose is to grow in faith together. Not sure about all that was just said? No problem – Come to youth group and check it out. Already a Christian and looking for a youth group? Cool. Check us out.
  • Growing in faith together… what’s that look like? It’s listening to music… It’s singing songs… praying… praying for each other… breaking some bread together (or maybe some pizza)… It’s fellowship (AKA hanging out)… It’s being taught and doing some learning… engaging with God through the Bible and getting some knowledge, then leaving and applying what we’ve learned and living out God’s ways… then coming back to youth group and learning some more… then living it out… and repeat… knowledge, apply, knowledge, apply! Big side note: A “theme” Bible verse for us is 1 Timothy 4:12… Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. We want to be known for our speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. We want the world to look at us and see Jesus instead. We want to be known by our love, humility, gentleness, compassion, patience, and service (to name a few of Jesus’ character traits!).
